Obi-Wan Kenobi: Star Wars fans were ‘confused’ by surprise twist in episode two

viewers of Obi Wan Kenobiwere stunned after what appeared to be an important character was killed off in the second installment of the series.

The six-episode Star Wars miniseries debuted on Disney Plus on Friday (May 27), with the first two episodes (referred to as “Parts”) released online.

Following are spoilers for the first two episodes of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’…

In the series, Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) lives in hiding after the Jedi purge Vengeance of the Sith.

Standing at his trial are a trio of Inquisitors – Jedi hunters and former Jedi themselves. Among them are Reva (Moses Ingram) and her superior, the Grand Inquisitor – a sinister figure previously found in the Star Wars: Rebels Animated series then voiced by Jason Isaacs. Here he is played by Rupert Friend.

With the inquisitor inside rebels When he met his end after being thrown into an exploding generator, viewers were certain the character would survive the events of Kenobi.

However, by the end of the second episode, Reva, who had spent two episodes arguing with her boss about her pursuit of Obi-Wan, lost her temper and impaled the Inquisitor with her lightsaber.

Fans were surprised by the twist, with some suggesting that this Grand Inquisitor must have actually been another alien of the same species.

“Disney are you kidding me? Kill the Grand Inquisitor? This is completely wrecking Canon,” one person wrote on Twitter.
