‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series to premiere on Disney Plus on May 25, new posters released

Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed the series’ premiere date on Wednesday during the company’s quarterly earnings call.
Ewan McGregor returns as the eponymous character of the series. Along with Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, the series’ cast includes Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie .
Disney has said the series is set a decade after “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” but hasn’t released many plot details other than a A behind-the-scenes look at the show released in November as part of Disney + Day.
“There’s a longing for this character to return. Fans have waited long enough,” McGregor said in the November preview.
Director Deborah Chow added, “This is a pretty dark time we’re going through with him. Just being a Jedi, it won’t be safe.”
“At least he has this one duty left: keep Luke safe,” McGregor continued.
“That’s definitely where our story begins. What’s interesting is where it starts,” said Chow, who is also the series’ executive producer.
Walt Disney Co. is the parent company of Lucasfilm and this ABC station.
