NYPD searching for suspect who assaulted man in New York City subway station

An attacker hit a man in the head with a hammer after colliding with him in a Manhattan subway station Tuesday night, police sources said.
The victim was left in the hospital after the violent attack on the 1/2/3 platform of the 14 Street subway station around 9:15 p.m., sources said.
According to sources, an argument broke out between the victim and the male suspect after the two bumped into each other.
The attacker then pulled the hammer and hit the man, who was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled and was still wanted early Wednesday.
The New York City subway system was the scene of at least one other disturbing incident Tuesday night.

Around 5pm, a man traveling on a southbound A train was arrested after allegedly threatening fellow passengers with a knife, sources said.
Good Samaritans on board the train intervened and detained the man as the train arrived at the 59th Street/Columbus Circle station.

The station’s transit police then arrested the suspect, who is expected to face charges of threatening and criminal possession of a weapon, sources said.
Nobody on the train was injured.
