NYPD reports vicious attackers hiss ‘Asian pig’ in attack on straphanger in NYC
A hate-spitting trio called a man an “Asian pig” and kicked and punched him on a Midtown train after telling him and a female companion to give up their seats, police officers said Sunday.
The three suspects, a man and two women, approached their 42-year-old victim and his 41-year-old companion, both of whom are Asian, on the shuttle train from Grand Central Station to Times Square around 8 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The suspects asked the victims to give up their seats, police said. When that didn’t appear to happen, the suspects punched and kicked the male victim, leaving a small laceration on his head, according to police.
The suspects then fled the train in Times Square.
The victim refused medical treatment, police said.
The New York City Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit is investigating, officers said.
The police released photos of the suspects.
