NYPD reports body found in shopping cart wrapped in garbage bag

According to police and sources, the body of a man was found in the Bronx on Saturday, wrapped in a plastic garbage bag and tucked into a shopping cart.

Around 11:15 a.m., police received an 911 call about a man who was found unconscious and unresponsive in the black plastic bag at Whitlock Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The man’s identity was being kept secret pending notification of the family, police said.
