NYPD recruits suspended after sex at police academy

It’s Police Academy – the adult version!
Two NYPD recruits were suspended Friday after they were caught having sex in a bathroom at the department’s training academy in Queens, sources told the Post.
The torrid scene happened in a changing room shower where the couple was spotted, sources said.
The recruits were identified as Javon Latibeaudiere (26) and Madelin Ramirez Solano (21). They joined the department in July, sources said.
The Post saw Latibeaudiere leaving Solano’s home in the Bronx around 10 a.m. on Saturday.
“I’m not supposed to talk about it,” he said when asked what happened to Solano. “I’m not supposed to talk to the press.”
The law and the zeal disgusted an insider.
“That’s what we’re recruiting for now,” the source ranted.
Another said: “These recruits are not afraid or care about being caught breaking the rules.”

Latibeaudiere, who lives in Orange County, is a Navy veteran who left the service in 2019 and attended Pace University, graduating this year, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In a 2019 interview with CBS New York, he said the transition to civilian life has been challenging.
“When you’re in the military, they’re not technically preparing you to leave the military. People don’t have the right resume, they don’t know how to translate what they learned in the military into real skills,” he said during an interview at a veterinarian job fair.
The NYPD’s academy is a sprawling College Point facility where “members of the department undergo extensive, rigorous preparation befitting the best trained and most effective law enforcement professionals in the country,” according to the department’s website.

The academy, where recruits spend six months, includes a gym, an indoor track and a “tactical village that emphasizes hands-on, scenario-based training.”
The recruits’ suspensions came just days after Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell announced she would be making unspecified changes to the department’s disciplinary policy. She said in a memo that she “didn’t want officers to feel they had been treated unfairly, but rather motivated women and men who are enthusiastic members of the service and work effectively with community residents.”
“The two officers are suspended. The matter is being reviewed internally,” the NYPD said.
