NYPD officer in stable condition after being shot in the arm

An NYPD officer was shot in the arm in Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The police officer was in stable condition after being shot just after 4:30 p.m. at Pitkin Avenue and Legion Street in Brownsville, police said.

The 26-year-old officer sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to Kings County Hospital, officers said.

Police sources said the officer was a neighborhood coordinator [NCO] in the department’s 73rd District and has been with the force for five years.
