NYPD detective suspended over federal investigation: sources
An NYPD detective was suspended this week after being questioned by the FBI as part of an investigation into his conduct, The Post has learned.
Det. Saul Delacruz, a field intelligence officer assigned to District 100 in Queens, is being investigated by the Fed in connection with possible criminal activity, details of which were not immediately known, police sources said.
Delacruz, who joined the force in 2014, was suspended without pay Tuesday, the NYPD confirmed.
“The NYPD does not tolerate corruption or criminal activity of any kind by any member of the service,” a police spokesman said Wednesday. “The investigation is currently active and ongoing.”
The FBI and federal prosecutors did not respond to requests for comment.
Delacruz was not immediately available on Wednesday.
“He’s in big trouble,” a source with knowledge of the matter told The Post.
