NYPD cop arrested off-duty for allegedly choking his girlfriend

An off-duty NYPD police officer was arrested for allegedly choking his girlfriend, authorities said.

Elisamuel Samboy, 28, who is assigned to the 83rd Precinct in Bushwick, was arrested early Saturday after an argument with the victim “became physical,” an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The NYPD did not say the dispute was over.

Samboy allegedly grabbed the victim’s arm, forcing her out of the house, leaving her with scratches and “bruises on the back of her neck,” the department spokeswoman said.

The exact location of the incident is unclear, but police said Samboy was arrested in the 73rd Precinct, which straddles a northeastern area of ​​Brooklyn that includes Brownsville and Ocean Hill.

He is accused of strangulation, police said.
