NYPD Arrests Suspected Gunman in Deadly Bronx Shooting

The NYPD has arrested the suspected gunman behind Monday’s killing of a 61-year-old Bronx woman – who was fatally hit by a bullet earlier this week after she was caught in the crossfire of a gambling dispute, police sources said.

Donald Johnson, 20, was arrested on Friday on pending charges along with an alleged accomplice, 33-year-old Rakell Hampton, sources said. It wasn’t immediately clear what role the 33-year-old played in the filming.

Johnson allegedly pulled the trigger on the firearm that killed Juana Esperanza Soriano De-Perdomo, who walked alone past a deli on East 188th Street between Creston Avenue and the Grand Concourse around 7 p.m. Monday, sources said.
