NYCFC’s offense erupted in a scoring win over Toronto FC

NEW YORK — Gabriel Pereira’s goal was crucial for New York City FC in Sunday’s 5-4 win over Toronto.
Pereira scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute to give NYCFC a 5-2 lead (3-3-1).
Four other players scored for NYCFC, including Santiago Rodriguez, who scored once, and Keaton Parks, who scored once.
Jesus Jimenez scored two goals, Michael Bradley added another while Deandre Christopher Kerr scored another for Toronto (3-3-2).
NYCFC beat Toronto 19-6, with 12 shots to six for Toronto.
Sean Johnson saved two of the six shots he faced for NYCFC. Alex Bono saved seven of the 12 shots he faced for Toronto.

New York City downed a man in the final minutes after Alfredo Morales was shown his second yellow card in the 89th minute.
NYCFC hosts the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday while Toronto host Cincinnati on Saturday.
