NYC thief in Amazon vest steals packages, beats workers

A thief slipped into a Queens building wearing an Amazon delivery vest and attacked an employee as he stole an armful of packages from the lobby in broad daylight, police officers said.
The brazen crook struck a building near 44th Avenue and 74th Street around 10:18 a.m. on Nov. 9, where he was caught on surveillance footage carrying away some boxes from a common area, police officers said on Wednesday.
The suspect also entered the building’s garage, where he was confronted by a 49-year-old employee, police said.
The crook allegedly punched the worker in the face, leading to a scuffle between the two men.
The brawl ended with the package thief fleeing with several boxes on foot north on 7th Street towards Woodside Avenue, investigators said.
The NYPD released details of the crime Wednesday as they asked the public for help identifying the suspect.

The construction worker suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention on site.
The police had no immediate information about the total value of the property stolen from the building.
The suspect is described as a 1.6 meter tall man with black hair. He remained at large on Thursday.
