NYC teens charged with hate crimes over ‘Asian pig’ subway attack

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with a hate crime in a heinous attack on a subway rider who was punched, kicked and called an “Asian pig” during a fight for seats, police said.
Dream Commisso of Manhattan was snapped in East Harlem Tuesday night and charged with assault as hate crimes, aggravated harassment, assault, threats and harassment.
According to police, Commisso, another woman, and a man were aboard a shuttle train from Grand Central to Times Square at 8:00 p.m. on November 19 when they approached a seated couple and demanded that they give up their seats.
The 42-year-old man and his 41-year-old companion, both Asian, apparently refused to get up, sparking a hateful turn of events.
Police said the trio of suspects used anti-Asian slurs at the straphanger and punched and kicked the man, suffering a small laceration.
The suspects fled the train in Times Square. Two remain at large and are wanted by the police.
The male victim refused medical treatment for his minor injuries.
Commisso is represented by a public defender. She is expected in Manhattan Criminal Court on December 5.
