‘Nunes goes to Man City’: Sky pundit urges ‘very good’ PL star to refuse Tottenham transfer

Danny Mills says Brennan Johnson is “better off staying at Nottingham Forest” as rumors of a move to Tottenham Hotspur circulate.
Time is approaching Friday transfer deadline day and Tottenham are expected to be busy for the next 48 or so hours.
One name they want to bring is Brennan Johnson but Mills wondered if he would start for Ange Postecoglou’s side, he told Soccer Special Sky Sports (8/29/23 at 7:20 p.m.).
Spurs lead Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski and Mills believes the Nottingham Forest star would be on the bench if the aforementioned trio are fit and firing.
Johnson made huge strides in his game last season, helping his youth club maintain their Premier League status after their long-awaited return to the big league.
Still, amid speculation Johnson could join Spurs before Friday’s transfer deadline, Mills urged him to stay at the City Ground as he shares the “very good player” with Wolves’ Matheus Nunes and his expected move Manchester City compared.

“I think he (Brenann Johnson) is a very good player,” Mills said. “He has a lot of talent. He also has pace. An eye for the goal. Does he go there and play? That would be his biggest concern. We talked about Nunes moving to Manchester City.
“It’s not disrespectful, but it’s progress given the size of the club and its current situation. Of course not the story.
“But does he play? That’s the problem. He won’t play in front of Son, with Richarlison you have to give him a chance. Bringing in a new signing is £60m a waste. I don’t see him start. I’m not sure (he starts ahead of Kulusevski). He was great last season before he got injured. I’m not convinced that he goes there and goes straight into the eleven. I think he might be better off staying.”

Johnson has a big decision to make
There is no doubt that the Wales international would be more comfortable and regular in his current environment compared to a move to Spurs.
While it would have been understandable to join Spurs in recent years, the fact is they are not in Europe now.
Anyway, as the deadline is getting closer and closer, the player has to make a big decision as maybe it would be better for him to advance his game at Forest.
