“We serve premium coffee that is roasted locally. We buy the top-rated beans, the triple “A”-rated beans,” shares owner Codi Dada, “when someone tastes our coffee, they notice a difference.”
“The coffee is always great,” comments customer Jeanie Stark.
However, Dada wanted to offer more than just fantastic coffee.
“We wanted this one thing that no one else had,” reveals Dada, “we had the ‘Scuffins’.”
“I remember seeing the sign years ago and saying, ‘What’s a scuffin,'” recalls customer Nancy.
The scuffin is a baked good mashup that combines the scone and the muffin.
“The outside is kind of crispy. It has a bit of crunch. We sprinkle a little sugar on top that melts as it bakes, but the inside is more like a muffin. It’s moist and fluffy,” Dada explains.
“They are not dry. They’re not too wet. They’re just perfect,” adds Nancy.
“We make them from scratch here. We use purely natural ingredients. We use real fruit, cream and butter like you would make at home,” notes Dada, “we stir them by hand. We don’t beat them with a blender. They come out a bit fluffier and not as dense.
“They are delicious. You are sticky. They are amazing. They are simply the best,” explains regular guest Jeanie Stark.
“I come in one day and there won’t be any more scuffins because people come in and buy about a dozen of them at a time,” shares longtime customer Marc Medoff.
“We find happiness in offering coffee, quality pastries and beverages because that brings happiness to others,” says Dada with a smile.
