Noel Gallagher has been criticized for mocking wheelchair users at Glastonbury

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher got into trouble for his comments about wheelchair users at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The 55-year-old musician performed at the popular music extravaganza on June 25 and stayed behind to watch others, including British rapper Jamie T.

Speaking on The Matt Morgan Podcast, Gallagher said he was initially unable to get close to the stage where VIPs typically watch performances.

Instead, he and his friends watched from the tent’s disabled platform and admitted he didn’t initially see the purpose of the tent.

After showing his all-access pass, he told security guards, “This crowd is with me, and we walked onto this platform — not knowing it was the disabled platform.”

The controversial actor continued, “I said, ‘See that passmate? It takes me everywhere.”

Laughing, Gallagher said he would dump a disabled fan out of his wheelchair so his son could have a better view.

“I have to say these disabled cats have a great view of everything,” he added.

His comments sparked mass anger at UK charity Scope, which took to Twitter to criticize the musician.

“Reports of Noel Gallagher’s behavior at Glastonbury were worrying enough. But to hear him brag about his actions while openly mocking disabled people is beyond insulting.” wrote the organization.

“Noel may detract from the experience of disabled music fans. But for many, the reality of attending live music and festivals can be stressful and upsetting.

“Accessible platforms at events are not for privileged rock stars and their friends. They exist so people with disabilities can enjoy live music with fewer barriers.”

The Oasis frontman branded his brother – with whom he has longstanding relationships – the “C-word” in a note on social media.

Liam posted a series of pictures from his recent performance and wrote in the comments section: “I would like to apologize on behalf of my family for the little guys recent comments about people with disabilities. SORRY weren’t all c–s LG x.”
