Nintendo stops account logins via Facebook and Twitter

Nintendo stops the linking function Facebook and Twitter accounts to a Nintendo Account, preventing players from logging in using these two options. The My Nintendo Points missions that involve linking the social media accounts will also no longer be available when the option is retired at the end of October.

When will Facebook or Twitter be unlinked?

Nintendo Account holders will no longer be able to link their Facebook and Twitter accounts as of October 25, 2022. From this date it is also no longer possible to create a new account with Facebook or Twitter logins. The options to sign up through Google or Apple will remain active, and players will still be able to create a new account using those logins.

Those who already use Twitter or Facebook to log into their Nintendo Account may still be able to use all devices without having to log in again. If players need to sign in again, they can do so using their Google or Apple accounts if they are already linked, or by signing into the Nintendo Account directly. If the Nintendo Account does not have a password set, you can do this by using the “Forgot Password” option on the login screen. Nintendo has provided more detailed instructions on the Nintendo support pages for anyone struggling with this.

At the moment there are also missions to earn My Nintendo points by linking a Nintendo account to a Facebook or Twitter account. These missions will also disappear on October 25th, at least that’s the plan at the moment. Nintendo has stated that “due to system issues, the discontinuation time may be delayed,” and I’m sure they’ll let us know if that’s the case.

Also, EA and Motive Studio are working on a new Marvel Iron Man game. Elsewhere, the second wave of Xbox Game Pass games for this month is being spearheaded by Deathloop. Nintendo stops account logins via Facebook and Twitter
