Nicole Kidman surprises The Music Man audience with a $100,000 donation
We got donations right here in River City.
Nicole Kidman shocked viewers on Saturday night with a surprise visit to Broadway’s The Music Man… but a visit to River City wasn’t all she had planned.
The “Moulin Rouge” actress offered $100,000 for Hugh Jackman’s autographed hat, which he wears in the final number of the show, according to a photo posted to Jackman’s Instagram.
In the segment, Kidman can be heard from the off making the bid, causing the audience to go wild over the actress’ performance.
The 55-year-old actress is then seen walking down the aisle of The Winter Garden before hugging her ‘Australia’ co-star.
“I’m speechless at the generosity and love that emanates from Nicole,” Jackman wrote in a post. “Thank you Nic for your friendship and support!”
Kidman responded to the post and expressed her love for her dear friend.
“Darling Hugh, to my friend of 30 years, back to you, such a generous, gorgeous man,” the Big Little Lies star commented.
“It was a brilliant evening at the theater and an honor to be able to donate to @bcefa! Congratulations to the talented cast
The Post has reached out to Kidman for comment.
Kidman’s donation goes to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a nonprofit organization that provides medicine, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial aid to people across the United States.
