NICKMERCS explains decision to compete in Apex Legends ALGS: “It’s my goal”

Twitch streamer and Apex Legends Global Series competitor Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff has explained why he made the decision to compete in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale.

Many members of the video game community probably know NICKMERCS as a content creator and streamer and not as an esports competitor. Since moving away from Fortnite, he’s primarily a content creator, with occasional dabs at creator tournaments.

That could be about to change, however, as he recently confirmed he’ll be taking part in the Apex Legends Global Series – the official esports environment for Respawn and EA’s battle royale.

NICKMERCS is now competing in the ALGS.

Nick and the other members of his trio enjoyed a successful first day in the ALGS and after completing it he shed more light on why he decided to return to esports and why he loves competing so much.

“We did well,” he said. “Hey guys listen up! I always say that attending these games is one of my favorite things in the world. It lights up for me. It is my goal. I became addicted and fell in love with her from a very young age and now she is a part of me. I have to do this stuff. It’s very healthy for me, it’s very good for me.”

He concluded by saying that the experience was different with 50,000 Twitch viewers celebrating the achievements and thanked all viewers for their support.

It’s certainly been a promising start for the streamer, who has taken an interest in Apex Legends as well as Gears of War, Call of Duty and Fortnite.

But knowing Nick, he won’t be satisfied until he’s among the best. We’ll see if he does. NICKMERCS explains decision to compete in Apex Legends ALGS: “It’s my goal”
