Nicki Minaj, Maluma and Myriam Fares unveil the anthem of the tournament

Nicki Minaj, Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma and Lebanese artist Myriam Fares have released their new song just in time for the World Cup.

The trilingual song, titled “Tukoh Taka,” features English, Spanish and Arabic lyrics related to the event, which will be held in Qatar.

Tukoh Taka peaked at #3 on the iTunes chart, behind Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ Unholy and Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero.

The music video on FIFA’s YouTube channel has garnered 3.7 million views since it was uploaded yesterday afternoon.

The World Cup anthem follows in the footsteps of other successful football songs.

Ricky Martin received a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance after the release of “Copa de la Vida” for the 1998 World Cup.

Twelve years later, Shakira released “Waka Waka,” which garnered 3.2 billion views on YouTube and peaked at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Maluma performs on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021, which airs December 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
