Nick Cannon continues filming talk show amid son Zen’s death from brain cancer as he admits ‘work is what keeps him going’

NICK Cannon plans to continue filming its talk show after the death of his son Zen, who suffered from brain cancer, because ‘the work is what keeps him going.’

The 41-year-old actor has no intention of slowing down in the midst of his loss.

Zen was 5 months old when he died of brain cancer.

He passed away on December 5, and Nick announced the news on Tuesday, on an episode of The Nick Cannon Show.

TMZ talked to Nick as he left the endodontist’s office, where he had three root canals done.

Although admittedly a bit “exaggerated” after the procedure, he told the clerk that the work kept him going after his son’s death.

He indicated there would be no slowdown, telling TMZ: “Ever since I got the news about the process, I’ve dealt with it. Work is one of the things that gets me through, so that’s it. We will continue to push because.”

When asked what he would recommend to other families going through this, he said, “Pray.”

Nick also said that Zen taught him “a lot.” He added that most of what he learned from his son during their brief time together was “about fatherhood.”

To his ex Alyssa Scott, Zen’s mother Nick said: “She’s maintaining.”

As The Sun previously reported, she “didn’t know” he was going to announce your child’s death on TV.

Since the announcement that his child is deadNick has talked about him a few times.

He has also gone out of his way to honor him, and told TMZ that he plans to continue being a son.

To this day, he still pays homage to his young son with a tattoo.

On the other side of the angel was a shawl with the inscription “Zen”.

Nick said on the show that getting the tattoo on his ribcage was “painful”, but added it was worth “every minute”.

He continued: “Last night, I had the opportunity to tattoo my son Zen as an angel on my ribs.

“It’s painful but it’s worth it. I enjoy every second of being able to experience to forever have my son right here like my ribs.

“Right here beside me as my angel.”

He shared: “Last weekend, I loved my youngest son who suffered from hydrocephalus… brain cancer.

“It was tough. And I have my therapist here who helped us through it.”

Nick revealed that his baby boy was two months old when they discovered what they thought was a sinus problem.

They quickly learned that it was actually building up in his brain.

Doctors discovered a malignant brain tumor that required surgery and placed a drain to help drain the fluid.

Nick said: “We were hoping, he was playing with his siblings. “I’ve embraced every moment.”

Nick has received a lot of support from his colleagues and fans.

Also ex-wife Mariah Carey reach out.

After Zen’s death, she contacted him, HollywoodLife reported.

“Mariah has personally reached out to Nick to express her deepest and sincerest condolences on the passing of his son,” a source close to the musician said.

“She’s not expected to say anything about it publicly and she won’t discuss it if asked about it because Mariah wants to keep these kinds of issues private.”

Mariah and Nick, who was have seven children, was married for six years before breaking up in August 2014.

Nick filed for divorce in January 2015, but he and Mariah remain friendly and continue to raise twins Monroe and Moroccan.
