Jake Guentzel had two goals and one assist to extend his streak to 13 games and Jeff Carter also scored twice as visiting Pittsburgh Penguins scored early in a 6-1 win over Seattle Kraken on Monday.

Penguins find the grid three times in the first 5:07 of the game.

Sidney Crosby – who extended his scoring streak to six games – and former scorer Danton Heinen joined Carter in the early scoring race. Heinen added two assists and Crosby added one. The Penguins, who are winning 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, received 28 saves from Casey DeSmith for their first win in five starts this season.

Jordan Eberle scored his team’s 12th goal for Kraken, who entered 3-0-1 and are looking for a fourth straight win at home. Seattle’s Joey Daccord made 24 saves against Philipp Grubauer, who was saved after conceding three goals from the first four shots he saw.

Avalanche 7, Flyers 5

Erik Johnson had a goal and an assist to help Colorado overcome hosts Philadelphia.

Tyson Jost, Nazem Kadri, Valeri Nichushkin, Gabriel Landeskog, Alex Newhook and Cale Makar each scored one goal for Avalanche. Devon Toews and Mikko Rantanen each added two assists, while Avalanche keeper Justus Annunen made 27 saves.

Claude Giroux scored twice for the reeling Flyers, they lost their ninth straight (0-7-2) and sacked coach Alain Vigneault earlier on Monday. Oskar Lindblom, Cam Atkinson and Scott Laughton each contributed one goal Flyers goalkeeper Martin Jones saved 43 shots.

Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris scored in a shootout and Ottawa rallied twice by regulation before winning in Newark, NJ

The Senators scored their third straight win of the season after their November 16 game was postponed due to Ottawa’s COVID-19 outbreak. Tomas Tatar has scored in the penalty shootout for the Devils, falling 2-6-3 in the past 11 games.

Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk each scored a goal and an assist for Ottawa, while Anton Forsberg made 22 saves. Damon Severson and Nathan Bastian scored for the Devils in a game that featured only one power play, for the Senators. Mackenzie Blackwood saves 21 shots.

Star 4, Coyote 1

Jamie Benn had two goals and one assist, all in the third period, as Dallas beat Arizona.

The Stars won their seventh game in a row, setting a franchise record. They have also won their past eight matches at home.

Alexander Radulov had two assists for the Stars, while Roope Hintz and Jacob Peterson scored the other two for Dallas. Braden Holtby made 18 saves. Shayne Gostisbehere scored for Arizona, and Scott Wedgewood saved 23 shots.
