SEVERAL people were injured after gunfire erupted at a Brooklyn subway station Tuesday morning, and the suspected gunman remains at large, putting New Yorkers on high alert.
Frank R James62, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been identified as a suspect in the investigation, having previously been named a person of interest.

NYPD detective chief James Essig previously said during a news conference, “We are making efforts to locate him to establish his connection to the subway shootings, if any.”
The alleged suspect is a man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, who was wearing a gas mask and an orange construction vest, three senior law enforcement officials said ABC.
The shooting happened on a train at the 36th Street subway station during the morning rush hour, and NYPD officials are continuing to investigate after the suspected assailant fled the scene.

Police officers search the home in Brooklyn
Armed police officers rushed into a home in New York on Wednesday as the manhunt for the Brooklyn subway bomber mounted.
Cops wear bulletproof vests and wield guns and tasers were seen entering a block of flats where a family member of the suspect is believed to live.
Three groups of law enforcement entered the same building within two hours on Wednesday after 29 people were injured on the subway.
Frank James has now been named as a suspect in the shooting.
NYPD detective chief James Essig shared a post offering a $50,000 reward for information about the shooting Twitter.
US Marshals join the search
The US Marshals Service has joined the search for the suspect in the Brooklyn subway shooting, Frank James, a spokesman said CNN On Wednesday.
“USMS has joined the investigation into the New York subway shooting and is searching for the person of interest,” US Marshals Service spokesman Drew Wade said in a statement.
“Approximately 50 NYPD detectives are serving with the USMS NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and will be assisting the US Deputy Marshals in locating the person of interest.”

Van on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge on Tuesday
Law enforcement sources said a license plate reader spotted the U-Haul van linked to the shooting as it drove from Staten Island across the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn around 4 a.m. ET Tuesday. CNN reported.
The bridge connects Staten Island and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
No guns in the U-Haul
Investigators found no other weapons or explosives in the U-Haul van found in connection with the Brooklyn subway shooting, law enforcement officials said CNN.
An officer said no guns or Explosives were found, while a second source also noted that no explosives were found.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Frank James and helping investigate the Sunset Park subway shooting.

Few of the 23 injured were taken to Brooklyn’s Maimonides Medical Center. The governor also paid a visit to the victims.
Corresponding CBS News, three patients were hospitalized for smoke inhalation treatment and have since been discharged. There are two more gunshot victims.
dr John P. Marshall, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, said, “One of [the victims] has been in surgery and is out and stable and the other one we are monitoring very closely but they will be with us for a few more days.
“Both victims were able to speak. I think it was a very confusing situation.”

City officials said they had no idea why the subway bomber hit that particular Brooklyn train during the morning rush hour on March 11.
