NEWCASTLE are making a dramatic bid to sign Marseille star midfielder Boubacar Kamara – from under the radar of Premier League rivals.
The ToonHis transfer team has arranged talks with Kamara’s agents – and hope to strike an agreement with him before setting a fee with the French giants.
The 22-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season but Newcastle plan to fix his personal terms and put up a bid of up to £10m to buy him in January.
The owner of Newcastle Eddie Howe told the owner he wanted to experience Prem – but also believes Kamara is too good to miss and should be quick to catch.
Toon’s top scout, Steve Nickson, has been working with foreign talent for months – and despite Howe’s preferences, it’s clear the net will have to be widened.
Kieran Trippier Still the right-back’s main target but salary talks have yet to be finalized.
Megabucks Toon is taking care not to overspend and set a standard that makes each contract more expensive.
Interim transfer fixer Nicky Hammond is also currently pushing to buy Reims striker Bilal Toure.
The 20-year-old Malian has been tipped as a potential star in France’s top flight.
Toure has a goal this semester.
