New York postal worker threatened on the street by bandits who stole postmen

Two brazen bandits robbed a postal worker on the street, threatened him with a gun and robbed his postman in Brooklyn, police said.

The episode happened around 3pm Thursday afternoon when the worker was standing on East 24th Street near Avenue S in Sheepshead Bay, police officers said.

The two male suspects approached the unsuspecting worker, threatened with a gun and then stole his postman, authorities said.

Video shows a suspect grabbing the mail cart and fending off the clerk who was trying to foil the robbery.

A second suspect pulled up in a white rental car with no license plates. The first suspect then puts the car in the van before setting off.

The postal clerk tried in vain to fend off the bandits.
