Here are 12 of the hottest movies coming in 2022, one every month of the year!


What is it? Sir Kenneth Branagh’s autobiographical film about his childhood in Northern Ireland.

It was billed as a poignant tale of a boy’s childhood love, laughter and loss amid the political and social turmoil of the late 1960s.

The cast includes Dame Judy Dench as Granny, as well as Jamie Dornan as Pa, Caitriona Balfe as Ma, Ciaran Hinds as Pop, as well as 10-year-old Jude Hill as Buddy.

Death on the Nile

What is it? Sir Kenneth Branagh returns as Hercule Poirot after playing fictional detective Agatha Christie in Murder On The Orient Express 2017.

What is it? April brings the third Fantastic Beasts movie, Dumbledore’s SecretsSet several years after the events of The Crimes Of Grindelwald.

Mads Mikkelsen replaces Johnny Depp as the evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald as he moves to gain control of the wizarding world.

Jude Law’s Dumbledore assigns Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and a brave Muggle baker on a perilous mission.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

What is it? Marvel will deliver a mind-bending multiverse sequel in May with Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which sees the return of Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role.

This time he’s accompanied by Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, who recently appeared on the hit Disney+ show WandaVision.

Jurassic World: Dominion

What is it? June will mark the release of the latest Jurassic World movie Dominion, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing.

With them will be familiar faces from Steven Spielberg’s original films: Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum will reprise their roles as Dr Ellie Sattler, Dr Alan Grant and Dr Ian Malcolm .

Where the Crawdads sing

What is it? This film adaptation of Delia Owen’s best-selling novel of the same name stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Harris Dickinson.

Edgar-Jones will play Kya, the abandoned “Swamp Girl” who finds solace in the wild in this coming-of-age story set in North Carolina in the 1950s and 60s.

When can I watch it? July 22

Secret headquarters

What is it? This superhero movie stars Owen Wilson, Michael Peña, and Jesse Williams, and follows a kid who begins to suspect his father might be a superhero after discovering a secret headquarters in his basement.

He shares it with his friends, and they begin to believe that his estranged father might have a secret double life, and an adventure to follow.

When can I watch it? August 5

Don’t worry, honey

What is it? Followers of the celebrity couple will finally get to see the movie that brought Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles together when Don’t Worry Darling is released in September.

The psychological thriller sees the musician star opposite Florence Pugh, while Wilde returns to the director’s chair after her teen comedy, Booksmart.

The film is set in the 1950s in an isolated, utopian community in the California desert and follows an unhappy housewife and her husband who are hiding a dark secret.

When can I watch it? September 23

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)

What is it? Even the most staunch superhero haters can’t help but enjoy 2018’s Into The Spider-Verse, an innovative Marvel hero animated film that’s visually stunning as well as genuinely funny.

The much-anticipated sequel will bring more colorful action, a cast of super-powered characters, and good laughs for the whole family.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a superhero fan, this should be on your radar.

What is it? This semi-autobiographical teen drama from director Steven Spielberg will be based on the legendary director’s childhood growing up in Arizona.

The film stars Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams.

When can I watch it? November 23

Untitled Mario movie

What is it? Still no final title, announcement of an animated feature based on NintendoA series of video games about the gentle plumber surprised many people.

Oddly enough, Charles Martinet – who has provided the iconic voices for Super Mario and a host of other characters from the series – won’t be playing the lead role, although he’s supposed to make a role. “surprise” guests.
