New in Redlands
A new gelato shop has opened in Redlands.
Happy Camper Creamery offers gelatos and sorbets, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. Its gelatos are also egg-free.
The store also ships for free – with a minimum purchase of four pits – to Redlands, Loma Linda, East Highland, Mentone, Yucaipa, Calimesa and Beaumont.
Current hours are 3-8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and noon-8 p.m. Saturday.

New hotness
Chalooby’s Burgers and Wings closed in Redlands and replaced by hot chicken restaurant Byrd’s Chicken.
New restaurant at 414 N. Orange St., Suite 2A, site of a former Burgerim and previous Metro.
Froyo BOGO
National Frozen Yogurt Day is Sunday, February 6th and Yogurtland are providing a Buy one get one free all day offer.
Additionally, members of the frozen yogurt chain Real Rewards loyalty program will receive three times the points for any purchase that day.
Plus, ahead of Valentine’s Day, the chain is giving away a $5 gift card with the purchase of a $25 e-gift card on February 7-14.
In other Yogurtland news, it appears the chain is planning to reopen a location in San Bernardino, 4235 N. University Parkway, Suite 103. Location, closed about five months agoTo be currently listed as “Coming Soon” on the chain’s website.
Crosstown collab
Two breweries in Riverside have teamed up for a strong partnership.
Wicks Brewing and Packing beer company collaborated on Wicked Ways Haze Hazy India Pale Ale.
The collab beer is made with citra, cashmere and el dorado hops, and has 6.9% alcohol by volume.
The beer has “intense pineapple aromas and flavors with notes of ripe citrus,” according to one Instagram post from Wicks.
It is available on tap and takeout at both breweries while supplies last.
Wicks Brewing is at 11620 Sterling Ave., Suite C, and the Brewing Packinghouse Company is at 6421 Central Ave.
Local homebrewer doing well
Last year, Riverside home brewer Jason Dunn won the Stone Brewing Home Brewing Contest and this week his winning beer is on the market.
Jason Dunn / Stone Pineapple Dunn Upside Down Wee Heavy will be on Stone’s A batch of dispatches one-off brewing program.
According to a press release, the beer is described as “rich and full of malt with a heavy caramelization character, punctuated by aromatic pineapple,” and is inspired by the upside down pineapple cake. according to a press release.
Beer will only be available online or at Stone locations, including the Pasadena location at 220 S. Raymond Ave, Suite 103 and at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens in Escondido at 1999 Citracado Parkway.
Beer was released this Wednesday.
Girl Scout Cookies is here
Scout Girl Cookies landed in the Inland Empire and other places.
And for second year in a rowhas a new taste.
The new cookies are Adventurefuls, a marzipan-inspired cookie with caramel-flavoured cookies and a hint of sea salt, and according to a press release.
It is available from both the Council of Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio, which includes most of the Inland Empires, which get cookies from ABC Bakersand the Girl Scouts East Area of Greater Los Angeles, including the western end of the Inland Empire. That council gets cookies from Little Brownie Bakers.
The new biscuits join the rest of the lineup: Caramel deLites / Samoas, Lemonades, Lemon-Ups, Toast-yay !, Peanut Butter Patties / Tagalongs, Do-si-dos / Peanut Butter Sandwich, Shortbread / Trefoils, Thin Mints, Girl Scout S’mores, Caramel Chocolate Chip and Toffee-tastic.
The Girl Scouts of the Council of San Gorgonio List of stalls selling cookies starting this week.
Starting February 18, there will be online portal (girlscoutcookies.org) to buy cookies in person or donate them to a local cause, according to a press release.
