Nestlé is recalling Toll House cookie dough because it may contain wood chips

Nestle USA recalls some of his Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough due to possible fragments of wood.

The recall includes two batches of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “Break and Bake” bar, according to the company Notice from Nestlé.

The affected lots were manufactured on April 24 and 25 and distributed to retailers nationwide. The company did not specify which retailers were affected.

Nestlé said no illnesses or injuries were reported from the recalled products.

However, the recall was done out of great caution, as the recall said “a small number of consumers” had contacted them about the issue.

The company noted that no other product was affected, including other types of refrigerated cookie dough in break and bake bars, rolls, tubs, or edible cookie dough.

People who purchased lots 311457531K and 311557534K “should not prepare or consume the product,” the company said. Instead, they should return the product to the retailer for a replacement or refund.

The company said it was “confident that this is an isolated issue” and that it had already taken steps to address it.

“We are working with and will fully cooperate with the US Food & Drug Administration on this voluntary recall,” Nestlé said. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause to both our consumers and our retail customers.”
