Nebraska’s Trey McGowans Rolled To Fight On His Scooter

Years ago, the NBA and NCAA introduced penalties for players who left the bench area during a fight to try to prevent things from turning into a team brawl. However, sometimes guys just can’t help but get out of the bench area to check things out, or be the mediator or the instigator.

On Wednesday night, longtime rivals hate [checks notes] Nebraska and NC State meet in Raleigh and in a fourth-quarter draw, things got heated and a bit of chaos broke out near the NC State bench. Some technical fouls were committed, with Nebraska’s Kobe Webster and NC State’s Cam Hayes as the two main participants, but the brawl became a viral fever thanks to the presence of Trey McGowans, who skimmed across the pitch from the Huskers’ bench to check what was going on – his brother, Bryce, was down there – and his leisurely rolling across the pitch was an image of hysteria.

McGowans wasn’t involved, but couldn’t help but want to check things out. As the announcers note, it will be interesting to see if there are any more penalties for those coming off the bench – with McGowans apparently the only one on the floor riding a knee scooter. In any case, he provided us with a NED moment of basketball, and we can all be grateful for that.
