NCAA Men’s Quarter Finals Logo for 2023 celebrates Houston’s history

“Four stars for the four hosting opportunities Houston has had, and four teams,” said Dan Gavitt, NCAA senior vice president of basketball.
But the stars don’t just denote the four teams that will play at NRG Stadium when the NCAA men’s basketball tournament culminates in late March 2023.
With Houston Baptist University, Rice University, Texas Southern University and the University of Houston all serving as the event’s host, it will mark the first time the Finals have featured this type of teamwork from the hometown school.
“It really makes sense that we have four NCAA Division I organizations here,” said Janis Burke, CEO of the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority. “No other city has that and could have four host universities.”
Gavitt says that by hosting an event like the Final Four over and over again, Houston is not only doing the right thing when it comes to hosting, but the city is committed to becoming bigger and better.
“Always innovating and trying to make this incredible world-class event a little bit better each year is a challenge,” said Gavitt. “So when cities step up and do that, it’s going to go a long way to earning a chance to host again.”
Houstonians can now look to the logo’s four stars for some foresight. The 2023 finals are only 16 months away.
Fans can visit NCAA Men’s Four Finals website to sign up for tickets to the matches taking place on April 1 and April 3, 2023, at NRG Stadium.
