Meet Marina Williams in Decatur, Texas. She’s excited to get back to training and buy a new Peloton Tread.
But, just a few weeks later, it stopped working.
Peloton sent her a replacement and on the first day she used it, it also stopped working.
Williams contacted Peloton again, who told her they couldn’t fix it because she lived in a rural area. They offered her a refund and said they would pick up the broken treadmill, but they never showed up. Williams reached out to NBC 5 Responds for help.
NBC 5 Responds has reached out to Peloton to see what is happening. In a statement, Peloton told us:
“Our third-party delivery partner attempted to repair or replace Ms Williams’ Peloton Tread, but was unfortunately unable to do so. While we offered to schedule another appointment, Ms. Williams chose not to exercise that option and decided to return the device instead. While we regret not being able to keep Ms. Williams as a valued member of Peloton, our goal at that time was to ensure that her return goes smoothly. ”
A few days later, the treadmill was received and over $2,600 was refunded.
Williams was pleased with the results, saying: “Thanks to NBC Responds. I finally got the Peloton out of the house that never worked. Thank you so much for reaching out to consumers and helping me. ”
