NBA 2K22 players lose it due to “rigged” pass mishap

NBA 2K22 players are going insane over the game’s “rigged” passing, and it turns out this has been a problem in the series for years.

The 2K series may be the best pro basketball game out there, but players are furious about the less-than-ideal passing mechanics.

Passing, as you might expect, is key in basketball and therefore plays a big role in 2K games as well. The problem is that it rarely seems to work the way the titles intended, leaving players fed up.

NBA 2K Passing “rigged”

Wow, lmfao. think I’m well away from 2K for a while. from NBA2k

A clip posted on the NBA 2K Reddit shows exactly what gets players and fans so excited when it comes to passing.

The player above has a man wide open in the suit and, despite user input, sends a sky-high floater that’s intercepted by defense. After seeing this pass, everyone would understand why the player could be done with 2K for a while.

However, as one player explained in the comments, this isn’t just a problem in 2K22. The ball’s motion has apparently been “rigged” on the show for years.

“Since 2K16, the pass railway has been completely rigged,” they explained. “Passes to a “cutting” teammate either “float” toward the defender or somehow pull your teammate away from goal; crash dead into a defender.”

So annoying to make the right pass only for the game to punish you with a turnover, throwing cutters off their current path regardless of badge, icon passing, lead passing, etc. from NBA2k

There are literally hundreds of clips on the 2K subreddit showing this happening. No matter what players try or do, the game seems to make its own decisions when it comes to who gets the ball.

As with other sports titles, a new NBA 2K game is released every year. With 2K23 scheduled for release in September 2022, we can hope that the developers will take notice and finally do something to ensure that these problems don’t happen again.
