Naturally Blonde: Selma Blair opens up on a scrapped alternate ending that showcases a romance between Elle and Vivian

Selma Blair has intervened in discussions about an alternative Naturally blond In the end, the protagonist Elle ended up with the enemy turned best friend Vivian.
Blair played the dapper Princess Vivian Kensington in the 2001 legal comedy. Although Vivian Reese Witherspoon was initially cold towards Elle Woods when she arrived at Harvard Law School, the two became allies after Elle demonstrated her skills in the courtroom.
Last year, fellow cast member Jessica Cauffiel claimed that an early version of the film hinted that Elle and Vivian might have gotten together, as they were spotted holding hands in Hawaii at the end of the film.
However, the ending was ultimately reshot to show Elle and her classmates at graduation, as early viewers weren’t fans of the original.
In a recent episode of Shut up Evan Podcast, Blair opened up about the potential couple.
“I love this idea! What fun,” she said. Although Blair admitted she didn’t remember the scene in question, she expressed support for the idea of a love story between Elle and Vivian.
“I’m friends with Karen [McCullah] and [Kristen “Kiwi” Smith] that’s what it wrote. But I would like that so much. let’s go with it I think it’s so much fun.”

“There was an ending where Vivian was blonde and it was me [go blonde]’ the actor revealed.
“I have the polaroids. I looked exactly like Faye Dunaway in it Bonnie and Clyde. The beret was on and the blonde.”
Naturally blonde 3 is slated for a 2023 release date. Though Blair has yet to be cast, she hopes to have “at least one cameo” in the production.
