MS-13 gang: Karla Jackelin Morales wanted for luring Jose Alfonso Villanueva to death

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) – A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a woman who allegedly lured a man to be killed by MS-13 gang members.

Karla Jackelin Morales, 20, had her ankle monitor cut off five days before she was put on trial in October 2021. Court records show the surveillance company was alerted at 9: 07 pm on October 20. Morales never answered the phone and never showed up. up to try it out. Efforts to find her were unsuccessful.

“She helped plan and plot this cruel execution, and someone out there knows where she is hiding,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “You can do the right thing by helping bring justice to your family (Jose Alfonso Villanueva) and you can get rewarded for your efforts.”

Authorities say 24-year-old Jose Alfonso Villanueva was lured out of his home by Morales in July 2018, who told Villanueva she would give him marijuana on his birthday.

Villanueva got into a car with Morales and two MS-13 members and drove to a field about 500 feet from Lewis Elementary School in Spring.

At the scene, a total of five gang members attacked Villanueva. Francisco Amadeo Flores-Salazar later told authorities he slashed and broke into the 24-year-old man at least twice with a machete causing him to try to crawl away. Other MS-13 members later shot Villanueva down because he was allegedly linked to a rival gang.

Villanueva was hiding from gang members who were hunting him for allegedly discrediting the gang during a rap battle, according to authorities.

Dr Luis Salinas, a sociologist who studies MS-13, said that’s exactly how gangs work, and machetes are their weapon of choice.

“By treating one person this way, it is sending a message to others,” If you don’t respect us or harm us in any way, this is how we will deal with you,” Salinas said. “MS-13 is known for its machetes because they’re so horrible and so violent.”

Flores-Salazar, 21, pleaded guilty on October 18 in exchange for a 45-year sentence, and four other gang members who massacred Villanueva were sentenced to prison. Morales was the last to face trial.

Morales is nicknamed “Cherry,” “Karlita,” “Missy,” and “Foxy.” She is 5 feet tall with a heavy body. She has black hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos, including a large one on her upper left breast that reads “Alicia.”

Morales was put on trial on October 25. Prosecutors asked the court to set her bail at $250,000. Instead, the judge set it at $100,000. A district court judge later lowered the bail to $60,000 and waived the defendant for the ankle monitor. She was absent from the hearing days before the trial began and has not been seen since.
