Mr. Happy Face, Arizona hairless Chihuahua mix, dubbed “World’s Ugliest Dog”

Mr. Happy Face, a Chinese crested hairless Chihuahua mix from Flagstaff, Arizona, took home first place on Friday as the competition made its big return after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

His owner, 48-year-old musician Jeneda Benally, calls her emotional support human and couldn’t be prouder.

“It feels incredible that true inner beauty is being recognized, and that’s just amazing,” she said.

Mr. Happy Face blew the judges away with his crooked head, gray mohican haircut and wheezing.

“I don’t know if I feel like I have the ugliest dog in the world,” Benally said. “I know I have the most adorable dog in the world.”

Mr. Happy Face was adopted from an Arizona animal shelter.
