Mothers issue stark warning to women with long hair about its dangers to babies and how it can cause lifelong damage

Being a parent is a wonderful experience – but from constant diaper changes to making sure a persistent cough isn’t something to worry about, there’s a lot for parents to worry about.

And the two moms have added something else to the ever-growing list – flower bouquets.

The sisters’ moms, Nikki and Rach, shared the poignant post on their Instagram page, @little upbringingadvises parents with new-born babies, especially women with longer hair, to be extra vigilant.

Sharing a photo of a baby’s foot with a scar like a cut, the sisters shed more light on the dangerous condition.

” Hair tendrils occur when a hair or other fibers, such as a thread, wrap themselves tightly around a body part, most commonly in a finger or toe. ”

Mothers also added that other common body parts include wrists, genitals, ear lobes, navel and nipples.

Although, the duo explained, regional bunions are relatively rare, they require rapid recognition and treatment to prevent long-term damage.

”They are most commonly seen in babies and toddlers due to their inability to tell us what is going on and where they are in pain. ”

The Instagram post also revealed that babies under four months of age are most at risk.

They point out that this is because 90% of mothers experience postpartum hair loss.

Since most babies and toddlers aren’t yet able to tell their parents that they’re experiencing severe discomfort and pain, the post is informative, as well as a few other signs to watch out for.

As well as persistent fussiness for no noticeable reason, babies will have lines around their toes, fingers, or genitals accompanied by redness and swelling.

To treat gallstones, you should apply a small amount of hair removal cream to the area and leave it on for about 10 minutes.

Then simply rinse with warm water – this will help remove the hair.

However, if the hair or thread is still wrapped or the skin is broken or bleeding, you must take your child to the emergency room right away.

The mom duo urged parents to save the post, saying: ”You never know when you’ll need it. ”

One mother, who saw this at just the right moment, commented: ”Thanks for sharing this.

”Yesterday, my 3 month old baby had a hair wrapped around his ring finger. So glad I was able to see it!!

” So it’s important to always check their hands, feet and neck! ”

A second added: ”I saw a similar post about this a few years ago and it’s the first thing I look for when my kids are unstable and I can’t seem to figure out why. It’s obvious why! ”

One parent shared her horror story as a child: ”This is something that I love very much as a mother!

”My mother has pretty long hair, she slept with me when I was little.

” One night, my father woke up to find the baby’s cry muffled and my mother screaming.

” Her hair wrapped around my neck and I turned blue. ”

One user wrote: ”We have a furry cat and the amount of hair wrapped around our fingers and toes is insane”.

“We check every diaper change now.”

In another parenting news, a pregnant mother went viral after sharing a video of her unusually large swelling.

Plus, former Towie star Jess Wright has revealed about her fear of giving birth and become a mother.

Meanwhile, a ‘trash’ parent revealed – “my son uses a broken playing table for his underwear and an old rail for his clothes’.
