While many viewers criticized the tactic, Hamer revealed in a follow-up video that the strategy worked and that her daughter cleaned up her room after alleging that the clutter had allowed rats to enter.

In the second follow-up video, Hamer lets his daughter address some of the criticism, with the boy explaining that her room has been messy for four days and that every time she tries to clean it, she was distracted.
The teen also claimed that, if she was having a mental health issue, she would tell her mother, because she was her “BFF” and she felt as if she could. “Tell me anything”.
“My mother did NOT humiliate me by posting my room, if she thought it would, she would not have posted it,” she concluded.
