Molly Rainford: Who is the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant?

It is official Be sure to come dance Season.

The latest series, the 20th Anniversary Special, has unveiled a host of new contestants for 2022, including personalities from the music, television and sports worlds.

Among the contestants competing for the Glitterball trophy this year is Molly Rainford. She is coupled with new professional dancer Carlos Gu.

but Who is Molly Rainford and what did she say about her performance? Strict?

Rainford, 21, rose to fame after reaching the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 when she was just 11 years old.

She wowed judges Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden with her performances of Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” and Beyoncé’s version of “Ave Maria.” She placed sixth (Dancing Dog Act Ashleigh and Pudsey won), but was quickly signed to Sony Music.

In 2014 she became a co-host of CBBC’s download friday and won new fans in 2021 for her role in the series Nova Jones, which tells the story of an intergalactic pop singer.

Rainford also wrote and published an extended play that has been streamed online more than two million times and recorded a series of Christmas covers for an EP to be released in 2020.

Her father is Dave Rainford, a former Chelmsford City FC midfielder and assistant manager.

speaking in front of her Strict performance, Rainford said, “I wanted to be in it Strict because I love everything the show represents, all the glitz and glamour. I love performing and I’ve never tried latin or ballroom dancing so it adds a new string to my bow.”

The actor has topped the leaderboard a few times on the show so far. Last week, Rainford scored 35 points for her cheeky cha cha cha on Lady Bri’s “Do What I Do,” placing her fourth in the rankings.

However, in week five, Rainford and Gu were sent to the dance and the judges voted to save them from fellow contestants Jayde & Karen.

The following week, they danced the Argentine tango to Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” to emphatic cheers from the studio audience. However, the judges were divided and ultimately gave them a score of 33.

In week seven, Rainford impressed the judges with a fox trot that earned her a score of 39.

In the eighth week, Rainford danced the rumba. Anton Du Beke loved how “mature” the performance was, and the rest of the judges agreed that everything was pretty much perfect. She scored an enviable 37, her highest score to date.
