Missing wife: Elsa Murillo was last seen driving a black Nissan Altima from the Washlandia Washeteria parking lot on March 11

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A Houston family and police are searching for a missing mother of four.

Elsa Murillo’s family has not seen her for more than two weeks. They work with the Houston Police Department to find out where she went after a trip to a washeteria.

Surveillance video shows Elsa Murillo driving a black Nissan Altima from the Washeteria parking lot on March 11.

About a week later, her children found out that her car had been towed from an apartment complex 10 miles west on the 1400 block of Pavilion Point. They have no idea why it was there or where her mother is now.

The Spanish-speaking family, who are originally from Honduras, said their mother was not the type of person who would disappear and leave her children behind.

“She was very close to her children and always looked after us,” said her son, Cassey Murillo.

He added that she doesn’t usually go out or come home late. Not hearing from her, the three elders filed a missing persons report with the Houston Police Department on March 12.

They worked together to retrace her mother’s last known steps. They found surveillance video dated March 11 showing Elsa Murillo finishing her laundry at the Washlandia Washeteria on Hillcroft.

They don’t know where she went next, but they found her car in an impounded parking lot days later. It had been towed from an apartment complex in west Houston. There were freshly folded clothes inside, but no sign of where they had gone.

Now they are asking the community to join them.

Her daughter Nancy Murillo said: “Please call the police. If you’re scared, do it anonymously. We need your help.”

HPD’s missing persons unit is actively searching for Elsa Murillo and turns to Equusearch for help reuniting her with her family. If you have seen Murillo or know where she is, call the police at 832-394-1840.
