Officials say the body of a MISSING mother was found underneath the Texas home of a man who is facing domestic abuse charges against her.
Marissa Grimes, 26, was reported missing on February 16, according to a missing person.
Police have identified the owner of the Fort Worth home, Valerian Osteen, as a suspect in the mother and daughter’s deaths.
The day before Grimes’ body was found, police found Grimes’ abandoned vehicle near the home of 24-year-old Osteen, according to reports.
Investigators then found information that led them to Osteen’s home, where they found evidence of a body in or near the home.
Grimes’ cause of death will be released after a pending autopsy is performed.
Last month Osteen was arrested for domestic violence in a case that listed Grimes as a victim, according to the Tarrant County Criminal Attorney’s Office.
The felony charges include aggravated assault and unlawful restraint.
Osteem had five felony convictions when his bond was set at a $10,000 bond, Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
He has yet to be charged with Grimes’ death, but his bond from his previous arrest has been revoked and he is in police custody.
Grimes’ missing person claims that she fled Osteen when she went missing after he held her against her will for a week.
A Facebook post by one of Grimes’ friends read: “She had the power to report the abuse and as a result, NOTHING happened. She had no protection and when they allowed him to be bailed. He aims for revenge”.
Police said they are still investigating and expect more charges against Osteen.
