Minneapolis Snow Emergency Declaration; The rule goes into effect on Friday night – WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The City of Minneapolis declared a snow emergency Friday as the first major winter storm of the season battered southern Minnesota.
The parking rule will go into effect at 9pm on Friday, meaning parking will not be allowed on snowy emergency routes. Drivers risk being towed their vehicle.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the Day 2 rules begin. Plow crews will clear even sides of streets with snow-free emergency routes, which means motorists need to park on the odd side of the street or until the even side has been cleared. . The 2nd day rule will last until 8pm
Day 3 rules begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, when odd sides of snow-free emergency streets will be cleared. Motorists will need to park on either side of the road or risk being towed.
The driver of the towed vehicle is responsible for towing costs and ticket fees. The total cost is generally $100.
