Military plane crashes in the same area within as many days

A second military plane in as many days crashed in the same area where Marine MV-22B Osprey crashed on Wednesday.

The Naval Air Facility El Centro in California said in a Facebook post that a military plane crashed near Yuma, Arizona.

“EMERGENCY ALERT! We have received reports that a military aircraft has crashed approximately 35 miles north of Yuma, AZ,” the air station said. “Federal Fire and other local first responders, including Reach, are en route to the scene. Other information is available to us not available at this time. As soon as we can confirm any information, we will post it here. Please be patient while we work through this incident.”

Thursday’s crash came after all five Marines aboard an MV-22B Osprey died Wednesday after the plane crashed in a Southern California desert, military officials said.
