Mike Pence supports Lee Zeldin in the race for governor of New York

Former Vice President Pence added his name to a long list of Republican heavyweights who have thrown their support behind Rep. Lee Zeldin in the race for New York governor.

“Proud to support @leezeldin as governor! Vote on November 8th!” Pfennig tweeted Saturday.

Zeldin has long maintained a close relationship with former President Donald Trump, who backed his campaign in October in his own endorsement.

However, the candidate has sought to distance himself from the previous government, which remains deeply unpopular with voters nationwide.
