Michigan School District Equity Summit Includes Privilege Checklist, Encourages Political Activism

A Michigan public school district organized a “21-Day Equity Challenge” to encourage student activism, along with a list of violations and a privilege checklist, according to a report from Young America. Foundation (YAF).

Farmington Public Schools is asking students and families to come up with a “personal plan of action” on day 21 of the challenge, according to the YAF. report.

Some suggestions include joining “a Black lives are worth it too or a related protest “and/or donate to” bail efforts supporting those arrested for protesting injustice. ”

According to the school district, it is a violation to make statements such as “there is only one race, the human race” or “America is a melting pot.” The lesson also includes statements like “I believe the most qualified will get the job,” “gender doesn’t matter who we hire,” or “America is the land of chance”, continues to perpetuate the “legendary of the worthy regime”.

The list also stated “forced to choose male or female when completing basic forms” and “two relationship status options: married or single” as “sexist/heterosexual language” .

During a session on gender and sexuality, the school district provided a link to “GenderSpectrum.org, “Indicate” gender is a complex interrelationship between three dimensions: body, identity, and social gender,” YAF reports.

Students are also given a “privilege checklist“Where they will answer questions regarding their living circumstances, financial status and personal history to give themselves a score based on their race or class,” the YAF reports.

Farmington Public Schools did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
