Michael Ball reveals what he never does on stage

Michael Ball has revealed the one thing he will never do on stage.

The 60-year-old singer opened up about his life and career with longtime collaborator Alfie Boe High Performance Podcast.

While opening up about his mental health struggles, the singer revealed that he would never let his personal life get in the way of his performance.

“No matter what happened offstage in our own lives, you never take it onstage, ever,” the singer told hosts Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes.

The star also offered his advice on managing mental health for those who may be struggling.

“My advice has always been to share, to open up if you need someone to talk to,” he said.

Ball also explained how he often found comfort in a famous quote from William Shakespeare Hamlet.

“And the greatest, the answer to the greatest philosophy in the world. The best answer to anything is ‘this too shall pass,'” he said.

“Success is not eternal. Neither fails,” he continued. “You will find ways to change your life. I really believe in it,” he added.

Ball and Boe continued to talk about the modern tendency to rush through life looking for the next achievement. Ball believes it’s important to savor the moments of success, when we have them, before we move on to new plans.

‘Smell the roses, it’s easy to forget’, the West End hairspray star offered.

“Feel free to share your own success [and] Realize that whatever you have achieved, you did not do it alone.

“You did it for countless other people, positive and negative. Thank you. Always be thankful for what you have achieved.”

Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes will be touring the UK with the high performance live show next year.
