NEW YORK (AP) – The Metropolitan Museum of Art is removing the Sackler name from seven exhibition spaces amid growing outrage over the family’s role in the opioid crisis. The Sackler family and museum jointly announced Thursday that the foundation and their once-pocketed philanthropists are parting ways, removing the Sackler name from the iconic building, including the wing of the Sackler. Dendur Temple. In recent years, the Guggenheim, the Louvre in Paris, the Tate in London and the Jewish Museum in Berlin have all moved away from their families.
