According to the Met’s long-range forecast, the UK is set for some unsettled weather.

The forecast said: “Looks likely to become increasingly unsettled at the start of this period, feeling cold with spells of sunshine and showers in the north, while central and southern regions are expected. will be more cloudy with some rain, potentially heavy.

“Perhaps some nasty winds accompanied by rain and snow for a short while over the weekend.

“The weather can also change into next week, in addition to the possibility of showers and thunderstorms in some places, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the North and the West.

“Strong winds are likely to continue with a risk of hurricanes across these areas, with severe gusts along coastal areas.
