Meet Guest Stars of ‘Uniform’

Endeavor may be back in 2023 for its final series, but Season 9 promises some intriguing cases for Morse and Thursday to investigate, and Episode 2 welcomes a cast of new and familiar faces as suspect guest stars.
After Morse sat down with the Oxford Concert Orchestra in last week’s episode, the latest mystery is a thorny one as it involves a missing persons case, several stolen cars and a group of university students wreaking havoc.
So Episode 2 of Endeavor Season 9 welcomes a host of new guest stars, but who exactly is part of the cast?

Episode 2 of Endeavor Season 9 will arrive on ITV on Sunday 5 March 2023 at 8pm.
Endeavor’s recent case, titled Uniform, has several confusing branches, as the disappearance of a woman isn’t the only thing on his and Thursday’s plates, thanks to the disappearance of an artist whose work has graced the covers of a number of crime novels.
Adding to their already busy workload, a group of dissolute university students have wreaked havoc across Oxford, resulting in stolen cars and vandalism, while the cast of a TV crime series are in town to film what turns out to be turns out correctly is another cause for concern.
But the tip of the iceberg comes when a uniformed police officer is murdered, leading to Bright calling all hands on deck.

As always in Endeavor, the crime thriller welcomes back its central cast of characters while also introducing a variety of guest stars, and that’s certainly the case in Episode 2.

Guest star in the spotlight
Richard Hope as Ted/Sgt. Wilkins
First up in our cast overview is Richard Hope, who takes on two roles in Episode 2, actor Ted and his TV character Sgt. Wilkins.
The Kettering-born actor will be known to many TV fans as his acting resume has spanned more than 110 roles, with notable appearances on Netflix’s 1899, the 2022 adaptation of The Ipcress Files, Poldark, Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Piece Of Cake and the Bill.
Kevin R. McNally as Kenny/Supt Jolliphant
Bristol-born Kevin McNally has been a regular on our screens since making his acting debut in 1976.
McNally has nearly 170 roles to his name, with his most notable appearances being on Doctor Who, ITV’s Stonehouse, Das Boot TV series, Unforgotten, Turn: Washington’s Spies, Supernatural as well as the Pirates Of The Caribbean film series where he plays Joshamee , showing Gibbs.
Leo Staar as Richard/DI Chance
Leo Starr, on the other hand, is a much more recent entrant to the acting scene, having gotten his first role in 2010.
Since then, Staar has appeared in roles including Call The Midwife, Death In Paradise, Maigret, Prime Video’s Jack Ryan, Summer Of Rockets, ITV’s Van Der Valk, The 355 and another Morse-verse show, Inspector Lewis, where he starred in 2014 a character named Simon Eastwood in two episodes.
Jack Laskey as Peter Jakes
Jack Laskey will be a familiar face to Endeavor fans as he takes on the role of Peter Jakes, a character who hasn’t appeared in the detective drama since 2016.
In addition to his role in Endeavor, Laskey also starred in The Aftermath, X Company, Trust, Heartbeat, A Royal Night Out, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where he earned a First Order officer played.
Bill Skinner as Archibald Ormsby Gore
Compared to the other cast members of Episode 2, Bill Skinner is a newcomer to the acting industry as his very first role was only in 2020’s Ted Lasso.
He has since also appeared in the series The Cleaner with Greg Davies, as well as in McDonald & Dodds and Maternal on ITV.
Shaheen Khan as Librarian – Miss Hatch
Another familiar face to appear in Episode 2 is Shaheen Khan, in whose career she has appeared in over 50 roles since her debut in 1986.
Fans probably know her best from appearances on Bend It Like Beckham, The Mistress Of Spices, The Bill, My Life As A Popat, Britz, Casualty, Unforgotten, In The Club, The Reluctant Landlord and DI Ray.
Ayesha Antoine as Freya Baynard
Essex-born actress Ayesha Antoine will be best known to fans of Grange Hill, where she played the character Poppy Silver in the late 1990s, while also appearing in Holby City, Mouth To Mouth, The Long Song, Disney’s Artemis Fowl and In The Starred Long Run, Lloyd Of The Flys and Skys I Hate Suzie.
Michael Keane as David Astin
Despite only having nine previous roles to his name, Michael Keane has a few notable projects on his resume including Netflix’s Doctor Who and The Witcher, while other roles have included British Rationals, The Canterville Ghost and the films The Conversations and Mr Turner .
Paul Bazely as Mike Gatwood
London-born Paul Bazely has appeared in almost 50 roles since his debut in 1991, with his most notable roles being Black Mirror, Critical, Benidorm, The Sister, Feel Good, The Ipcress File, Murder in Provence, and Quiz, as well as Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Laurence Spellman as Uniform Stevens
And finally we end with Laurence Spellman taking on the role of uniformed officer Stevens.
The actor has nearly 40 roles to his name with appearances on Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Chernobyl, Ready Player One, The Maraijana Method, Fury, as well as the TV series Henry VIII: Mind Of A Tyrant and Henry VIII: Man. Monarch, monster.
