McDonald’s sued because of my Burger King ad

She doesn’t like complaints.

Sarah Michelle Gellar claims McDonald’s sued her when she was just 5 years old over a Burger King commercial starring the young starlet.

Recalling her career milestones at Buzzfeed UK, Gellar, 45, said she starred in a 1981 Burger King ad that compared the two fast-food chains, prompting McDonald’s to pursue legal action .

“That is really funny. That was this big campaign that I did for Burger King and I was 5,” she said. “And I was the first person to name another competitor in a job, so McDonald’s turned around and sued the ad agency, Burger King, and me at 5.”

The Post has reached out to McDonald’s for comment.

Despite the lawsuit, she recalled being excited at the opportunity to eat a burger because she “didn’t eat much fast food back then.”

“I was so excited because my mom said I could have the burger,” she added.

In a 2004 interview, she described the ordeal and claimed she was unable to eat at McDonald’s while the proceedings were ongoing.

“It was tough because when you’re a little kid all your friends at McDonald’s have their birthday parties, so I missed a lot of apple pies,” Gellar said at the time.

The iconic ‘Buffy’ actress has been revisiting her past roles lately – in December she called one of her sets “extremely toxic”.

“For so long I’ve been on a set that I believe has a reputation for being an extremely toxic male set,” she said at Wrap’s Power Women Summit. “And so that was ingrained in my head that all the sets were like that and that women were being pitted against each other — that when women became friends, we became too powerful, so you had to keep that low.”

She hasn’t named Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, but the so-called feminist, who’s been touted for his strong female leads, has made a string of allegations that he’s “toxic.”

As the decades have dragged on since “Buffy” was at its peak, more mysteries about the hit series have been uncovered. For one, Gellar confirmed that Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer on the teenage television show, a rumor that had never been confirmed until recently.

“Little known fact: The legend Dolly Parton was a producer,” Gellar told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

Gellar was also the focus of her own controversy, as she was often seen as “difficult” on set. However, she says she has “earned the right” to assert herself, adding that she “will find no more excuses to do so”.

“If people think you’re ab-h, it’s almost better,” Gellar previously told the Hollywood Reporter. “That way there are fewer expectations.”
