Max Verstappen’s father enjoys Lewis Hamilton’s F1 woes after seeing star-son LAP Mercedes’ rival at the Emilia Romagna GP

JOS VERSTAPPEN ‘enjoyed’ watching his son lap Lewis Hamilton at last week’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as the Mercedes driver continued to struggle.
Hamilton’s Season was getting worse on Sunday as he was 13 in Imola.
It was his worst result of the year so far, but the seven-time world champion was even more disheartened than he was LAPPED by Max Verstappenwho then won the race on the 41st lap.
But, Max Father Jos has made it clear that he has no sympathy for Hamilton at all.
In a column Vertappen official websiteHe wrote: “Honestly I enjoyed seeing Max Hamilton lap after everything that happened last year.
“Hamilton was having a really tough time while teammate George Russell seemed more balanced.


“You don’t often get the opportunity to lap a Mercedes.”
Hamilton and Verstappen were bitter rivals last season as they battled for the championship title.
Verstappen got the Brit to the post within seconds to win it in a controversial season finale.
However, this year has presented a very different story.

The new design regulations introduced this year have clearly thrown Mercedes off course.
Hamilton even admitted defeat last week after his performance in Imola.
After the race he said: “It was difficult but I don’t really know what to say. It’s definitely not easy.
“I was eliminated from the championship, there is no question about that.
“But I’ll still keep working as hard as I can to try to get it back together somehow.
“It was a weekend to forget.”


The Mercedes man is now 58 points behind the leader Charles Leclerc in the drivers’ standings.
Ferrari is the clear leader at the moment, with Red Bull trying to catch up after dropping a significant amount of points in two of the first four races.
